We wanted to take this opportunity
to spend some time with you to help educate and inform those in our community on the cannabis industry and some of it's misconceptions, as well as the incredible benefits of this miracle plant also known as hemp.
The hemp plant can come in many different forms, and when ingested in it's purest form can provide many different nutritional benefits in regards to different vitamins and minerals, proteins & fibers.
The omega3 fatty acids in hemp can boost heart health, reduce inflammation, improve skin, relieve arthritis, and contrary to the misconceptions around hemp - can actually protect the brain.
Here at Hoot Family Farm we believe that cannabis is medicine. From different methods of smoking, to vaping, to eating edibles or using tinctures - all can relieve pain, insomnia, stress, fatigue, anxiety and more. We believe in the healing powers of cannabis because we have seen them to be true with our clients, and even experienced them ourselves.
Don't just take it from us. These are legitimate, peer reviewed medical studies - not just claims from "stoner hippies" who are "pro weed".
While it is true cannabis can be used to enhance many different types of occasions, we don't see it as a"party" drug. It does serve recreational uses but it's purpose is far from solely having fun.
Some other misconceptions of cannabis can be:
Cannabis causes brain damage
All medicinal cannabis products get you high
Cannabis is addictive
Cannabis is a gateway drug
Cannabis can kill you
And there are more misconceptions than you see listed above. We strongly encourage you to spend a moment to read this great article we found written by Leafcann titled "common misconceptions about cannabis".

There are many stereotypes around people who use cannabis, many that are untrue. Yes, it is true that cannabis helps many of its users sleep, which isn’t such a bad thing in a country where one-third of Americans have sleep problems - but recent research suggests that not only is the image of the “lazy stoner” inaccurate, the opposite is true.
Did you know Michael Phelp's, one of the greatest Olympians in history, has been known to use cannabis? This directly contradicts the stereotype that cannabis users are "lazy" or "unproductive".
The list of stereotypes is long and mostly untrue or inaccurate. And if you we take the time to educate ourselves as well as others, we can help to clear the air and hopefully reverse the stigmas around using cannabis.
Here is a very thorough article on the stereotypes of cannabis use for those who want to dig deeper.
